The youth of London don’t want to miss this fun-filled and informative experience.
Barking & Dagenham College have once again partnered-up with Empowered Youth, the global skills-development training organisation, to bring a fun and educational experience to the youth of East London with Ready, Set, Success!
The competition is set to provide young people an interactive experience that is both educational and entertaining to ensure their engagement, as well as a good-old bit of competitiveness. The workshops will equip them with the skills needed for the real-world on the form of entrepreneurship and employability, as well as inspiring a “willingness-to-learn” amongst them.
How it works: Contestants will attend several different digital workshops that will teach them all about employability and entrepreneurship set to develop their knowledge and skills. Then they will be presented with a series of challenges they will need to complete by the deadlines. Contestants that do the best at all three challenges will go through to the Semi-finals where they will be trained by a panel of experts in preparation for the Grand Finale. It is in this final round that they will compete in front of a panel of judges, entrepreneurs and fellow students, and the winners will be crowned and rewarded!
The objective: To provide students with the guidance, skills and tools about all things employability and entrepreneurship needed to guarantee them with future success. While at the same time offering them the opportunity to showcase their own concepts and skills to a wider audience with the support and valuable feedback through the training workshops and then incentivising them with the opportunity to win.
The rewards: Thousands of Pounds worth of prizes are up for grabs including the title, the trophy, prizes, bragging-rights, media exposure, work opportunities and even mentorship from Empowered Youth.
READY.SET.SUCCESS’! presented by Barking & Dagenham College will be start on 7 March 2022 but entries open and the announcement will be made on 26 January. The live announcement event will be streamed to Secondary Schools in the borough with entries being open to anyone between the ages of 14 and 19 years of age living in the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham, Havering, Redbridge and Newham.
